High Holy Days

Dear Congregant,

The summer is just getting underway, but we are already very busy planning and preparing for Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. We look forward to celebrating the High Holidays with you, and ask that you please read all the enclosed information to insure a smooth and fulfilling holiday for you and your family.

For your convenience, we have linked various reservation forms, and your Kol Nidre pledge card below.

The holiday begins with the Erev Rosh Hashana Service at 7:45pm on September 20, 2017. Kol Nidre Service will be held on September 29, 2017 at 7:45pm.

For both the first day of Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur Day please choose to attend either the early service at 8:45am or the late service at 12:15pm in the Arnberg-Slater Sanctuary or 11:00 am family service (see below). The Second Day Rosh Hashana Service will begin at 10am, and will be followed by a Yom Tov Oneg which is open to the entire congregation. On Yom Kippur there will be a fifteen minute Yizkor Service following both services. While all are always welcome, we recommend these services for families with children in 4th grade or higher.

Our Family Services will be held in the Rubin Ballroom at 11am on both the first day of Rosh Hashana and on Yom Kippur Day. These services are specially designed for families with children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. An adult member must accompany and sit with children attending the Family Service.

Children’s Services are scheduled at 3:30pm on the first day of Rosh Hashana and 3:30pm on Yom Kippur Day. These services are specifically geared towards Pre-School and Kindergarten age children. No ticket is required for these services.

On Yom Kippur Day, you may also choose to join us at our Community Yizkor Service at 4:30pm followed by the Concluding Service at 5:00pm.

The mitzvah of giving Tzedakah on Kol Nidre is a tradition that exemplifies the Jewish soul, reminding ourselves and teaching our children that it is our responsibility to care for other Jews in need. This year, please try to increase your gift so that we may continue to support those in our family who desire to give their children the Jewish education and community they could not otherwise afford. You can choose to mail in your check or designate your pledge on your Kol Nidre pledge card and return it with your High Holiday request form.

PLEASE NOTE: You do not have to be current in payments to send in your request form. However, you must be current in order to receive your High Holiday tickets. Please include your payment with your ticket request forms.
